Brief Description:

  I don't have much experience with non-English speaking artis so I asked a friend, since she is really into music, and she recommended Tanya Saint Val. Here, we explore the rich musical traditions of the French-speaking Caribbean, which are renowned for their many influences and rich cultural legacy. Tanya Saint Val, a legendary singer and performer in the zouk music genre from Guadeloupe, is where our journey starts. With its catchy beats and sentimental lyrics, zouk first appeared in the late 20th century and has since come to represent the French Caribbean. For many years, audiences have been enthralled by Tanya Saint Val's stirring performances and strong voice. Her music explores themes of love, identity, and societal challenges by fusing traditional Caribbean rhythms with modern influences.
